Parties for the LwaIn recent months we have been blessed to hold several public and private events here in New Orleans. In June, 2004, we held two beautiful services to the Lwa in one memorable weekend. On Friday, June 25, we held services in honor of the Marassa, the sacred twins of the religion. On Saturday, June 26, we honored the female Lwa at an incredibly beautiful Maitresse party featuring two separate tables and three huge cakes. Both events were filmed for documentaries which should be released within the next 12 months. We were honored to have Frisner Augustin and Troupe Makandal in New Orleans to provide the exciting drumming and dancing required for such an effort.
Everyone is welcomed at our public services. Please check back for updated information about upcoming events. If you are an uninitiated person and wish to be
considered for membership, your acceptance by both the Lwa and elders of the house is
required. Contact us for further information at info@vodouspirit.com
Sevis Tet (Head Washing) ceremonies are held four times a year. For more information on this ceremony and what it entails, please review the Sevis Tet article or you may contact us directly. Beginner Vodou classes are being considered for later
this year. If you are interested in participating, please contact us Everyone is welcome in our house!
